Mental health, teens and children
Early identification and treatment of mental health disorders in children and adolescents is key to preventing long-term damage, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. This crucial time in their lives means that mental health issues can affect their academics, their social relationships, their social skills and their choices.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that nearly one out of every seven adolescents experiences mental health conditions and one in six children, so identifying and treating these early can make a positive impact on your loved one’s life.
Some signs and symptoms of mental health issues to watch out for in your loved one:
- Lack of interest in things they previously enjoyed
- Frequent worrying or nervousness
- Social withdrawal
- Change in attitude
- Irritability or anger
- Sleep issues

Your Child’s or Teen’s Safety Is a Top Priority
Patient security is a priority. Patients in our care are continuously monitored by staff – at least once every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day – with supporting documentation. All units are secured and all patient rooms have motion detectors internally and at the doorways. Additionally, there is video camera monitoring in patient care areas and hallways.
