When your child comes to Belmont Pines, please make sure the items listed below are provided. This will enhance your child’s comfort and enable our staff to make your child’s surroundings pleasant. Please bring only three changes of clothes and pajamas because storage is limited and your child is responsible for their own belongings. Adolescents are encouraged to do their own laundry during the stay. Children’s clothing will be washed nightly. For your convenience, personal hygiene items such as a toothbrush, soap, shampoo, comb and deodorant are provided by Belmont Pines. Pillows, blankets and stuffed animals are discouraged for infectious control issues.
Please ensure that all belongings are clearly marked with the child’s name in permanent ink.
For security reasons, there are certain things you are not allowed to have in Belmont Pines. We define these items as “contraband.” Contraband is considered to be any item or article that is dangerous or potentially dangerous to the patient or others; items which have proven to be problematic in an inpatient setting and items of value which could be lost, stolen or destroyed.
Below is a list of those items, which are considered to be contraband.
Note: Any items which are brought in by the patient or family must first be checked by staff. Any items which cannot be reasonably stored on the unit will be sent home with the parent/guardian.
