The Summer Day Treatment Program at Belmont Pines Hospital provides mental health treatment for children and teens ages 5 to 18 in need of support and structure. Professionals who specialize in trauma-informed care treat patients in separate age groups.
Families can find the program helpful when a child or teen’s behavioral issues are too difficult to manage in a routine counseling session. This mental health program can help with the transition from inpatient to outpatient treatment making a smooth return to home and school environments and minimizing the need for future hospitalizations.
The Summer Day Treatment Program starts in June and program activities include:
Our team of mental health professionals keeps track of the patient’s progress, determines the length-of-stay and recommends an appropriate aftercare plan. The psychiatrist supervises treatment that may include medication management if necessary. Our goal is to ensure high-quality mental health services by coordinating treatment with the family and community professionals.
